I didn't think I would have to make a decision between the three schools this soon, but it's now done. For those who missed it, the schools I got accepted to were UMN, UPenn, and OHSU (Decision Day – Recap). After some careful thinking, a pro/con list on my phone, and just what my heart tells me, I have chosen to enroll at the University of Pennsylvania as the Class of 2025!

This is all so exciting, and I am really shocked I made the decision this quickly as I am terrible at making choices for a lot of things, even simple ones. One thing to note that this is contingent on a one thing. I'm not sure I've mentioned it on this blog, but I am currently applying to the military for HPSP scholarship. Still need to write about that - it will be a big info dump that I hope will be super helpful. But I'm applying to UPenn in hopes that I get that scholarship. That way the tuition and fees won't be a financial burden in the long run. The problem is that the HPSP boards convene after the January 15th deadline to make a deposit at dental schools. To circumvent this, I will be placing a deposit to the University of Minnesota, my state school & (much cheaper), as well as at UPenn. For the dental schools you can make multiple deposits to claim a seat but will need to finalize one officially by mid-March. I'm really crossing my fingers that the military boards provide a decision before this time.

Anyways, I'm just kind of in a state of disbelief. Never did I think I would venture out into the east coast. But life has a funny way of working, right? Maybe, I can visit the big coastal cities! Washington DC, New York, Providence, Boston . . . this will be a time to really explore over the next few years. Haha, I sometimes feel like I have been trapped in Minnesota for too long. So much clarity has been granted in the last few days. Just ahhhh!

Not sure I will have much of an update with dental schools from here on out, but will let you guys know what happens with the HPSP. Time for some more informative posts. Ta-Ta!
